July 2026 Unpacked
A surprisingly productive month focused on creativity, systems, and storytelling. 😌
1. Monthly Note
July was a surprisingly productive month.
After months of experimenting, travelling, and rebuilding my creative rhythm, I found myself fully leaning into YouTube again. I planned, filmed, edited, and enjoyed the process along the way.
This month was less about chasing output and more about building momentum.
2. In Practice
July was a month of deep creative work.
I spent a lot of time planning upcoming videos, refining ideas, and improving my creative workflow.
Behind the scenes, that looked like:
Planning future YouTube content
Going back and forth with clients
Writing and refining scripts
Shooting a mountain of B-roll
Documenting more of my creative process
Spending far too many hours staring at a timeline
Editing long-form videos from start to finish
Taking my health more seriously
It was a busy month, but it was the kind that felt rewarding

4. What This Month Taught Me
July reminded me that sometimes creating more doesn’t come from working harder; it comes from removing friction.
After spending time refining my workflow, planning my shoots better, and building systems around my creative process, making videos started to feel less overwhelming and more enjoyable.
I was able to spend less energy worrying about logistics and more time focusing on the part I actually love: telling stories and creating something meaningful.
The biggest realisation this month was that I genuinely enjoy long-form content.
In a world that constantly pushes for short-form and quick content, YouTube feels like a space where I can slow down, explore ideas, and build deeper connections with people.
I’m still curious where this path leads, but July reminded me of the importance of following that curiosity and giving myself the space to explore it.
5. Things That Caught My Attention
Here are some things that sparked my curiosity. Check them out via the links.
I’ve been experimenting with this monitor alongside Mac colour calibration, and I’ve been impressed with how close I can get the experience to my MacBook display.
It’s been a great addition to my editing workflow.
I’ve really enjoyed this portable glossy monitor. It keeps my setup compact while giving me extra screen real estate when I need it.
A simple upgrade that has made working more enjoyable.
I’ve been taking my health more seriously lately, and this little tracker has become a useful reminder to pay attention to the basics.
Small habits add up.
The Sony FX5 caught my attention this month. It looks like an incredible camera with some serious upgrades.
Definitely more camera than I need right now, but it’s fun seeing where video technology is heading.
6. Before It All Makes Sense
This month’s Debrief goes deeper into everything above.
From rebuilding my YouTube workflow, finding a better creative rhythm, and rediscovering why I enjoy making long-form content. There’s a bigger story behind this month’s videos.
If you want the full breakdown, the July Debrief is out now.
I’d love for you to give it a watch!
