March 2023 Gear Recap
March was a busy month filled with many bag releases and announcements. Also, Watches & Wonder happened this month in Geneva and there were tons of new releases from Rolex, Tudor and IWC.
Gear News, Releases & Announcements
Bags
Bellroy Venture Backpack, Sling and Pouches - New products were released for the Venture line. The sling and hip pouch weren't very interesting. However, the design of the Ready Pack 26L looks good and I'm considering getting one in for review!
Alpaka Metro Sling - The new Metro Sling is a slightly larger version of the Metro Pouch with a strap attachment. The sling looks like a good alternative to the rest of the line for anyone looking for a smaller sling.
Alpaka Shift Pack V2 - The new Shift Pack V2 looks pretty interesting and comes in 35L with expandable storage pushing it to 37L. I'm not a fan of the rounded zippers for the admin and main compartments. Besides that, the bag looks feature packed!
AER Pro Collection - Another solid range of products with great features for the city and office. These slings and backpacks are all made with 840D Cordura recycled nylon which is a bluesign-approved material.
Tomtoc x U - Tomtoc have started offering customisation and personalisation for their most popular sling. There are two material options but there are tons of colour options to choose from for different panels and straps. This concept is very refreshing to see and I need to get one in for review to see what the hype is about!
Black Ember Grip Sling - Black Ember is launching a Kickstarter campaign for their new sling bag. The new sling looks very sleek and there's an optional camera insert add-on to convert it into a camera sling.
Groundtruth 38L Hybrid Duffel Pack - My friends at Groudtruth are launching a Kickstarter campaign for their new hybrid duffel pack. The design looks great and the backpack is made from 123 recycled bottles.
Watches
Tudor Black Bay 54 - This was the highlight of Watches & Wonder for me. I'm surprised Tudor released a 37mm version of their popular BB58. The new BB54 ticks all of the boxes for me!
Tudor Black Bay 31/36/39 - New colourways for this range of Black Bays and the blue-dialled version looks really nice!
Rolex Yacht-Master 42 - This new Yacht-Master comes with a titanium case and a Cerachrom bezel insert. The overall design looks amazing and that matte black bezel insert makes the watch look very sleek.
Rolex Sky-Dweller - I'm usually not a huge fan of colours but the rose gold and blue dialled Sky-Dweller is incredibly beautiful.
IWC Ingenieur - A fantastic sports watch with an integrated bracelet. The dial texture looks lovely but I'm not sure about the $13k price tag.
Tissot Chemin des Tourelles - I love the minimal sunburst dial on this dress watch. The 6 o'clock date and 39mm case size are perfect!
Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer - A new range of watches under the Jazzmaster line. All of the designs and colourways look great! It's very strange to see these come with a screw-down crown before the Khaki field watches line.
About Vintage 1964 Horizon - A sporty tool watch with a 36mm case running on a quartz movement.
Omega x Swatch Moonswatch Moonshine - Omega and Swatch are back with another failed and disappointing launch haha
Marathon Jumbo Day/Date Arctic Edition - My friends at Marathon released the white dial version of their 46mm diver. The dial is very legible and the pop of red on the second-hand looks good!
Other Gear
RZE x BigiDesign Pens - Awesome collab from two brands. These pens are limited editions with only 50 available.
Merrel MXM Ace Tec (1TRL) - New 1TRL running shoe and the Black/Olive colourway looks awesome 🔥
Things I’ve been working on recently
Casio MWD110H Review
My friends at Casio Australia recently sent me the new MWD110H to check out. It’s a pretty cool Casio with a stainless steel bezel and one of the most legible and unique displays. Could this new Casio potentially be one of Casio's best releases in 2023?
What’s in my Tech Pouch?
I created another video for my EDC series and in this video, I share my tech pouch setup. I've been using the Alpaka Elements Tech Case for the past half year and have been very impressed. Check out the video to see what I carry in my tech pouch and learn how I use my gear.
Ridge Wallet
This month has been pretty hectic with client work. I've been creating a lot of video content for my friends at Ridge. Here are a couple of videos I've created for them so far but there will be more on the way!
